What's changed in every GA Wire Helper release. For the maintenance app, see the GA MX Helper changelog.
Version 1.4.0
2026-10-18
Automatic capitals made consistent with the other two apps. A field marked to keep what you type now does so — the drill-size search was being capitalised despite being marked otherwise, which mattered when typing a size like 4mm.
Licence keys protected by name as well as by their field, so the protection cannot be lost if the field is ever renamed.
Printed pages match the family. Documents print with the same half-inch margin GA MX Helper and GA Build Helper use, so a wire list and a work order sit the same way on the page.
Version 1.3.1
2026-10-17
One master key across the GA apps. The admin/tester override now also accepts the shared GA master key, so one key covers GA MX Helper, GA Wire Helper and GA Build Helper. Any override key you already use still works. Nothing else changed.
Version 1.3.0
2026-10-13
New: a continuity test record. The app already knows every wire, both ends, both pins and the gauge. It now prints the ring-out sheet to go with them — every wire in the project, in order, with columns for the measured continuity and the isolation reading, a tick box and initials.
A header block for the meter make, model, serial and calibration due date, because a reading is only worth what the instrument was.
Nothing arrives ticked. The app knows what should be connected; it knows nothing about what a meter actually read, and the sheet keeps those two things visibly apart.
It does not state a pass/fail limit. Acceptance limits come from the maintenance manual or the approved data for the installation — the sheet records what was measured, it does not decide what is acceptable.
Prepared-by and inspected-by signature blocks, with printed name and certificate number, in the same style as the rest of the document set.
It sits on the document list alongside the wire marking checklist, so it prints on its own or as part of the complete package.
Version 1.2.1
2026-10-10
A live demo of GA Wire Helper on the website: the real app with a sample wiring project, nothing to download and nothing to sign up for.
The sample project now carries a short revision history, so the revision sheet shows what it does rather than printing blank.
Version 1.2.0
2026-10-09
New: a Converter, on the toolbar and on Alt + C — the same one GA MX Helper got in 1.90.0, so both apps give the same answer. Units (length, weight, volume, pressure, torque, speed, area, power, angle, temperature), fuel and fluid weights, decimal hours, torque through an adapter, drill sizes and Ohm’s law. No internet needed.
New: Crimp tooling in the AC 43.13-1B reference. Pick a wire size and it tells you which M22520 tool class covers it, what it’s used for, and how to check the tool is still in calibration. It deliberately doesn’t name positioners or dies — those belong to the contact you’re crimping, and it points you at the contact manufacturer’s data instead of guessing.
New: Revision history. The title block has always had a revision letter; now there’s a dated record of what changed at each one and who changed it, and it prints as its own sheet. The revision letter in the title block keeps itself in step.
New: the parts list crosses over to GA MX Helper.Send to GA MX Helper on the Parts List. Components come with quantities and the reference designators they came from; wire comes by the foot, and any run with no length recorded is called out rather than quietly counted as zero. Everything arrives as Needed: nothing is taken from stock and nothing is ordered. (In GA MX Helper, open the aircraft, go to Wiring, and the diagram offers Add parts to a squawk.)
Fixed: the printed user manual rendered dark text on dark panels — the app’s screen theme was being carried into the PDF. It now prints light, with the screenshots unchanged.
Version 1.1.1
2026-10-08
Works with no internet. Printing quietly needed a connection: with no wifi the app opened but could not produce a PDF. Everything it needs is now inside the file, so it works anywhere — which is usually where the aircraft is.
Version 1.1.0
2026-10-07
New: wire selection reference — 53 aircraft wire constructions from MIL-W-22759, MIL-W-25038, MIL-W-81044 and MIL-W-81381, with conductor plating, insulation and temperature ratings.
New: connector reference covering nine military connector families — MIL-DTL-38999 Series I, II and III, MIL-DTL-5015, MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 and 2, and others.
New: connector finder. Describe the job — how many contacts, what wire size, round or rectangular, bulkhead or inline, exposed to heat or fluids — and it narrows the families down to the ones that fit.
New: contact and insert tables — contact sizes against wire gauge and current, and the insert arrangements available in each shell size.
New: grounding and bonding reference.
New: direct connections — wire a pin straight to another pin without an intermediate component.
New: a starter library of common avionics units, each with its connector shells, mating connectors and contact sizes already filled in.
Wire type selector, so a project’s default wire construction is set once.
Reference data throughout is taken from the published US Government specifications (MIL-DTL, MIL-STD, MIL-W and AC 43.13-1B), not from vendor catalogues.
Version 1.0.0
2026-09-30
First public release of GA Wire Helper.
Schematic editor with a full symbol library, pin-to-pin wiring, automatic routing and fan-in, Auto-organize, Line up, multiple sheets and circuit Trace.
